LocalNet Acquires CoreComm Subscribers

LocalNet Corporation announced today that it has completed the acquisition of CoreComm's Internet access and web hosting customers. The transaction will give CoreComm access to LocalNet's low-cost dialup network, and allow LocalNet customers access to CoreComm's business services.

Former CoreComm customers will be served by a new company called CoreComm Internet Services, Inc. "We value both brands and will continue to offer services through LocalNet and CoreComm," said Chief Operating Officer David Kaplan. The combined companies have over $40 million in sales and will employ 330 people. Together, they form the largest privately held dialup Internet Service in the United States with over 250,000 subscribers.

LocalNet is known as one of the original, low-cost $9.95 Internet Service Providers. In November it was honored as one of Inc Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Companies. This was the fourth time in five years that LocalNet made the 'Inc. 500' list.

LocalNet Corp. was founded in 1994 by owner and President, Marc P. Silvestri. The company is headquartered in Amherst, NY. CoreComm, which includes the former Voyager.net and Exec-PC customer bases, has offices in East Lansing and Kalamazoo, Michigan, as well as Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Dayton, Ohio.

Spokane, Seattle and Phoenix Locations Operational!

Discount Long Distance Telephone Service Now Available

LocalNet has announced that it is now offering long distance telephone service in addition to it's traditional $9.95/mo. dialup Internet service. LocalNet has added three more sites to it's proprietary network. The Minneapolis, MN colocation point will also serve Grand Forks, ND and Eau Claire, WI. LocalNet Opens Los Angeles Facility

After years of growth, primarily in the northeast and mid-west, LocalNet Corp. has announced the opening of its Los Angeles based co-location facility. While LocalNet had previously done limited business in the L.A. area, the company is now launching its $9.95 per month service in all of southern California and San Diego.

High-Speed Cable Service Launched !

LocalNet has begun offering High-Speed, cable internet access over Time-Warner cable infrastructure.

Founded in 1994, LocalNet has experienced consistent growth, largely due to the success of its popular $9.95 dial-up service. The company was named to the Inc. The Federal Trade Commission has approved an agreement between Time Warner Cable and LocalNet that allows LocalNet to be offered throughout Time Warner Cable's Rochester, Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Liberty, N.Y. divisions.

FTC Approves LocalNet/Time Warner Cable Agreement

Williamsville, NY - The Federal Trade Commission announced its approval of an agreement between Time Warner Cable and LocalNet Corporation, whereby LocalNet's ISP service will be offered on Time Warner Cable?s Albany, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Liberty, NY divisions.
